Dubai Parking Rules Are Changing: 5 Key Updates for Drivers

The biggest parking updates rolling out across the city

Finding a parking space in Dubai is rarely straightforward, and 2026 is bringing even more changes for motorists. From new paid parking zones to revised public parking tariffs and supermarket parking fees, drivers will need to stay informed to avoid unexpected charges.

Here are five of the biggest parking updates you need to know this year.

1. Paid Parking Comes to Palm Jumeirah Crescent

Motorists visiting Palm Jumeirah will soon have to pay for on-street parking along the Crescent.

Parking operator Parkonic has announced that the new tariff will be Dhs10 per hour (or part thereof). Drivers can pay either through their Salik account or by sending an SMS using the instructions displayed on parking signs.

The move aims to better manage parking demand in one of Dubai’s busiest waterfront destinations.

2. Spinneys and Waitrose Introduce Paid Parking

Several Spinneys and Waitrose branches across Dubai are switching to paid parking through a partnership with Parkin.

The affected locations include:

  • Spinneys Trade Centre Road (Karama)
  • Spinneys Motor City
  • Spinneys Al Meydan
  • Spinneys Umm Suqeim
  • Waitrose Motor City
  • Waitrose Al Thanya

Customers will continue to enjoy up to two hours of free parking, with charges only applying once that time limit is exceeded.

3. Public Parking Tariffs Updated Across 17 Areas

Dubai has introduced revised public parking rates and regulations in 17 locations throughout the city.

3. Public Parking Tariffs Updated Across 17 Areas

The updated system is designed to improve traffic flow and increase parking availability in high-demand areas. Depending on the zone, parking fees now start from Dhs2 for 30 minutes or one hour, while premium locations can cost up to Dhs36 for a 24-hour stay.

Subscription packages have also been updated, with monthly permits starting from Dhs300 and annual plans reaching Dhs4,040.

4. Paid Parking Arrives at Dubai International City

Parkin has launched regulated paid parking throughout Dubai International City.

Residents are entitled to one complimentary parking permit per residential unit, while additional vehicles require a paid subscription.

Parking charges begin at Dhs2 for 30 minutes, with longer stays costing up to Dhs25 for 16 hours.

The new system is intended to improve parking availability for both residents and visitors.

5. Discovery Gardens Introduces Regulated Parking

Discovery Gardens has also joined the list of communities implementing paid parking.

Managed by Parkonic, the new parking system includes updated signage and regulated parking zones across the neighbourhood.

Each eligible residential unit will receive one free parking permit, while residents with multiple vehicles will need to purchase additional subscriptions.

The initiative is expected to improve parking management, particularly in buildings that do not have dedicated parking facilities.
