Landing in a new city can often be the most stressful part of a trip. Between navigating unfamiliar transport systems, dealing with expensive airport transfers and figuring out the quickest route into town, the excitement of travel can quickly turn into frustration.
But if you’re flying into Dubai, you’re in luck.
A new report has named Dubai the most accessible city in the world for arriving travellers, thanks to its fast airport transfers, reliable public transport network and affordable travel options.
The ranking comes from the Global City Access Index, compiled by transport search platform Mozio. The study assessed major destinations worldwide to determine which cities offer visitors the smoothest journey from the airport to the city centre.

Researchers evaluated a range of factors, including transfer times, public transport frequency, taxi costs, transit coverage, local amenities and hotel prices. Dubai emerged as the overall winner, beating popular travel hubs across Europe, Asia and Australia.
One of the standout findings was the speed at which travellers can reach central Dubai after landing at Dubai International Airport (DXB). According to the report, visitors can travel from baggage claim to the city centre in around 30 minutes, making it one of the quickest airport transfers among major global destinations.
The city’s public transport network also played a major role in securing the top spot. With direct access to the Dubai Metro from DXB, travellers can easily connect to key areas across the emirate without relying on private transport. Services run approximately every eight minutes, helping to keep waiting times to a minimum.
Dubai also scored highly for affordability. The report found that taxi fares are comparatively lower than those in many other major cities included in the study, while accommodation remains competitively priced. Researchers estimated the average cost of a three-star hotel room at around Dhs154 (£31) per night.
