Ready for Take-Off? 10 New Emirates Routes Launching

With a brand-new year comes fresh annual leave to plan around UAE public holidays — and 2026 is shaping up to be a big one for travel. If you’re flying from Dubai, there’s no better place to start than Dubai International Airport, home to Emirates, the world’s largest international airline.

This year, Emirates is expanding its global network with new routes, extra frequencies and upgraded aircraft across Europe, Asia and Africa. Whether you’re dreaming of cherry blossoms in Japan, safari adventures in Kenya or chasing the Northern Lights in Finland, here are 10 Emirates flights to add to your 2026 travel list.

1. More Flights to Tokyo, Japan

From May 1, Emirates will expand its services to Tokyo with an additional daily flight to Narita International Airport.

Tokyo remains one of the most exciting destinations in the world. From cutting-edge neighbourhoods and centuries-old temples to Michelin-starred restaurants and buzzing street food markets, it offers something for every type of traveller. The extra flight gives more flexibility for both business and leisure passengers heading to Japan.

2. Expanded Service to London Gatwick

Starting February 8, Emirates will introduce an additional daily service to London Gatwick using its Airbus A350 aircraft.

This marks the 12th daily Emirates flight between Dubai and London-area airports. The added service offers greater convenience for travellers visiting the UK for work, shopping, theatre or countryside escapes. It also provides more flexibility for connections across Europe and North America.

3. Additional Daily Flights to Cairo

From February 1, Emirates will operate five daily flights between Dubai and Cairo.

The increase comes as the airline celebrates nearly four decades of service to Egypt. Cairo continues to be a favourite for UAE travellers thanks to its rich history, cultural landmarks and proximity to the iconic Pyramids of Giza. Extra services during peak winter months will make quick getaways even easier.

4. Upgraded Boeing 777 to Beijing

Passengers flying to Beijing will notice a major cabin upgrade in 2026.

Emirates is introducing a retrofitted Boeing 777 on the Dubai–Beijing route, featuring its latest Business Class cabin in a 1-2-1 layout and an enhanced Premium Economy section. The refreshed interiors provide added comfort on long-haul journeys to China’s capital.

Beijing remains a key global business hub and cultural powerhouse, making the upgraded service particularly welcome.

5. Enhanced Service to Beirut

From January 6, Emirates will deploy a retrofitted Boeing 777 on flights to Beirut.

The upgraded aircraft includes the airline’s Premium Economy cabin and refreshed Business Class seating. The route also offers improved connectivity to cities with large Lebanese communities, including destinations in Australia, North America and Europe.

Beirut’s Mediterranean charm, cuisine and coastline continue to attract travellers year-round.

6. Third Daily Flight to Nairobi

Beginning March 1, Emirates will add a third daily flight to Nairobi.

Kenya has long been a popular destination for UAE residents, particularly for safari experiences in the Maasai Mara and wildlife spotting in Nairobi National Park. With the additional service, Emirates will operate 21 flights per week between Dubai and the Kenyan capital.

The added frequency strengthens both tourism and business travel between the two cities.

7. Three Daily Flights to Cape Town

From July 1, Emirates will increase its Cape Town service to three flights per day.

High demand from UAE travellers has driven the expansion. Cape Town remains one of the most scenic destinations in the world, offering Table Mountain views, vineyard tours, coastal road trips and adventure sports.

The added capacity also supports strong outbound travel from South Africa to Europe and the United States.

8. Second Daily Service to Copenhagen

From June 1, Emirates will operate a second daily flight to Copenhagen using a retrofitted Airbus A350.

The Danish capital is known for its minimalist design, canal-side cafés and vibrant food scene. With the additional service, travellers will have more flexibility for Scandinavian holidays and onward European connections.

9. Increased Services to Phuket

Starting July 1, Emirates will add extra daily services to Phuket.

Thailand’s island destination remains a firm favourite among Dubai travellers, offering white-sand beaches, island-hopping adventures and lively nightlife. The expanded schedule makes it even easier to plan both short breaks and extended tropical holidays.

10. New Year-Round Route to Helsinki

One of the biggest announcements for 2026 is Emirates’ new daily service to Helsinki, launching October 1.

This will be the only year-round flight between the UAE and Finland. Operated by Emirates’ newest Airbus A350 aircraft, the route introduces Premium Economy and the airline’s latest cabin products to Nordic travellers.

Finland has consistently ranked as the world’s happiest country, and Helsinki offers a mix of modern design, historic architecture, saunas and easy access to Arctic experiences. For those seeking a dramatic change from Dubai’s climate, it’s an ideal choice.

A Big Year for Travel from Dubai

With expanded routes across Asia, Europe and Africa, 2026 is shaping up to be one of Emirates’ most exciting years yet. Whether you’re planning a city break, beach escape, safari adventure or winter wonderland experience, there are now more options than ever before.
